Alec Soth 'Looking For Love'
‘Looking for Love’ is a collection of Soth’s early work and is presented at the Brian White Gallery at Guernsey Museum at Candie.
It touches on the search for connection and the curiosity and excitement of new beginnings. Alec Soth is widely regarded as one of the most important living, contemporary photographers. He is known for his large-scale projects that focus on the American mid-west and the more off-beat and melancholic aspects of life there. His work is held in public and private collections around the world. Soth has been the recipient of a number of awards, including the Guggenheim Fellowship (2013). The exhibition will open daily from Fri 28 May to Sun 4 July, 10am - 5pm at Guernsey Museum at Candie. This event will serve as a build up for The Guernsey Photography Festival special 10th (+1) anniversary celebration that will take place from 23rd September to 23rd October 2021 on the theme of ‘ACTS OF LOVE & REBELLION’.
