Nocturne @ St James

11th Nov
7pm
A gorgeous night of sensitive original music from the Channel Islands, highlighting some of Guernsey, Sark and Jersey’s best. Expect fairy lights, flowers and gold.
Singer/songwriters Kiya Ashton and Hollie Thorne team up for a joint set of their best original folk material. Together the pair will create a lush sound, brimming with reverb and feeling, as their songwriting collides and echoes through the hall in St James.

Supporting is Jersey artist Alex & Her, the beautiful solo project from Nic Dinnie. The place where all of his midnight thoughts come to rest, this ambient, tape saturated dreamscape captures the pretty lyrical journey of everyone’s tales.

Second on the night is the wonderful Ash Jarman from the land of Sark, an island of beauty and adventure. This lifestyle is reflected in both Ash’s self penned tunes and those written with The Recks, all completed by a full acoustic sound and a rich, unique vocal.

Opening the evening with a debut solo performance is ‘Spirit Sings’ with Martine-Marie White. Here, Martine combines her love of spirituality with her passion of story telling. Her words are inspired by the amazing places that she visits and the energies they contain. Accompanied by her ukulele, Martine’s folk vocals will start Nocturne off with harmony.
This event is happening in the hall, with seating provided on the big round tables.
