Art at the Park: Marine Life by Rosanne Guille

The National Trust of Guernsey's Art at the Park Gallery is delighted to welcome Rosanne Guille back to the Gallery with her lastest exhibition 'Rosanne Guillle Marine Life'. 

After her expeditions to Alaska where she undertook a vast array of arctic painting, she returns to her love of the sea and Guernsey. 

The exhibition runs from Tuesday 8th July until Friday 31st July from 10am until 5pm daily - please be aware that the exhibition will close at 2pm on the final day.

About Rosanne Guille MA (RCA)

Rosie grew up in Sark where her interest in painting was first sparked. In the 1990's she studied Natural History Illustration & Ecological Studies at Bournemouth and then at the Royal College of Art in London.

Exhibitions include the Society of Wildlife Artists and Royal Miniature Society and her work is in collections around the world.

Rosie is best known for her work with the International non profit organisation, the Artists for Nature Foundation.  In 2011/12 she organised 'Art for the Love of Sark' a project which brought 20 renowned landscape and wildlife artists to work in Sark to highlight the Island's unique way of life and its fragility through film, book and exhibitions.

In 2019, Rosie moved to Guernsey where she is inspired by the stunning nearby west coast beaches and headlands.  She has used this fresh start to work with new mediums and now paints in watercolour & oil, mostly outdoors.  She says 'Painting gives me a sense of belonging.  It enables an emotional response to a particular place in time and I hope this feeling is passed on through my paintings to the viewer.'  

In 2025 Rosie organized ‘Exile & Return’ a group exhibition at St Peter’s Church & rectory in Guernsey to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Bailiwick’s Liberation from Nazi Occupation.  

She was also invited to work on the Artists for Nature Foundation’s latest project in Cordova, Alaska.

In this exhibition ‘Marine Life’ Rosie revisits her love of everything to do with the sea.  From our fishing communities to the myriad of species which inhabit our beaches and coasts.  The sea has always run in her veins and through her paintings. It is so much a part of who she is and is why she continues to choose marine life as a subject for her work.
