Art at the Park: ‘Through My Mind’s Eye’
10am - 4:30pm
Val Travers ‘Through My Mind’s Eye’ exhibition will run from Friday the 15th November until Friday 20th December from 10am until 4:30pm Tuesday to Sunday – please note the final day will end at 2pm.
In Val’s own words;-
"Painting has played a major part in my life for over 30 years and I can honestly say that it has given me support, healing, focus and of course sheer pleasure.
Seascapes feature strongly in my work, but I suppose living in Guernsey surrounded by beautiful coastline is more than enough to fuel my inspiration. Apart from my love of the sea my subjects also include landscapes, floral art and abstract. I work in oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastel and mixed media.
I work quietly from my home studio where I feel most comfortable, knowing that anything I need is at hand. Battling the elements is not something that appeals to me, but I do enjoy taking reference photos when out and about which I use for ideas. I tend to work very freely, maybe using a photograph initially but soon discarding it and painting purely from the heart and my imagination. Often, I will grab a canvas and without any reference at all will begin to apply paint and see where it takes me.
Over the years I have exhibited regularly both locally and overseas, and also share my work online.
Art is something that I feel very passionately about and cannot imagine my life without it."
Free entry, accessible friendly, Museum Shop with a Christmas Theme – please be aware that the Museum itself is closed at this time.
