Swallow Recitals presents: Belles de Nuit

Both passionate about chamber music and the creation of staged concerts, Sarah and Zoé met in 2021 during a summer tour where they performed a show for the young public entitled "Not so different". Since then, they play together in recitals and shows. Semi-finalists in the Toulouse Melodies International Competition in 2023, they went on to perfect their skills with specialists in the field like Emmanuel Olivier and François Leroux. Attracted by the contemporary repertoire, they also benefit from the advice of French composer Graciane Finzi. For next season, they are preparing several concerts and a show for the young public based on the great painters of the 20th century, “Décroche des toiles!” (“Pick up paintings!”).

About the Concert:

Night is an inspiring theme for composers, from romantic nocturnes to cabaret songs. The night is the reverse of the day, that magical moment when rules are broken, dreams come true, when certain flowers, known as "belles-de-nuit", finally decide to bloom.

At the heart of the programme for this concert, we have chosen a genre that has been so good at allowing the lyrical expression and contemplation of the night : French melody. And a period, Impressionism, which was able to paint the stars and nocturnal mirages in music. But because night is also about celebration, excitement and dance, this programme includes forays into operetta and opera, from the 19th century right up to the contemporary repertoire.

A concert full of poetry and surprises !
