Fanny Davies International Piano Series: Alexandra Dariescu

The Fanny Davies International Piano Series promotes recitals and masterclasses in Guernsey.

Two evenings before International Women’s Day, Alexandra Dariescu, a celebrated artist known for championing lesser-known works alongside much-loved favourites, performs music by Enescu, Lili Boulanger, Filtsch, and Tailleferre in a first half filled with colour and wonder.

She performs a fiendishly challenging and entertaining transcription of Tchaikovsky’s ever-popular Nutcracker Suite as a finale, a work that is increasingly associated with her from her innovative and international performances of ‘The Nutcracker and I’!

The Fanny Davies International Piano Series brings three pianists to Guernsey every year who are chosen not just for their international standing as concert artists but also for their experience and dedication to the teaching profession. For 2023-2024 we welcome Luke Jones, Alexandra Dariescu, and Tom Hicks. We warmly welcome those who have never attended Classical events before in a short, casual, and early-evening concert programme.
