FREE Encaustic Art Demonstration with Lynne Wood

7th Aug
10am - 2pm
Following the success of last year's event, Sarnia Arts & Crafts Club have once again organised a full programme of 'have a go' workshops and demonstrations which will run alongside our main exhibition at Blanchelande College.

Workshops cost just £10 (to cover materials) and must be booked in advance.  Demonstrations are free to attend.

Try your hand at Collage or Decoupage.  Have a go at Silk Painting, Cyanotype or Needle Felting.  No experience is required. All materials are included and each workshop includes a project for you to take home with you.

Encaustic Art is created by heating coloured beeswax with electrical tools to manipulate the wax into images on high gloss paper.

Although the tools and materials have changed since its origins, it is by no means a new art medium.  There is evidence of encaustic art from as far back in history as the Ancient Greeks and Egyptians, preceding many other art Mediums.

In this free demonstration Lynne will show the different effects that can be achieved with the different tools and if time allows there may be an opportunity to have a brief go yourself at the end of the session.  Please note although this session is free booking is required as space is limited.
