Pottery Wheel 2 Day Intensive Course
Intensive pottery weekend! Learn to throw on the wheel and fall in love with the process.
During this weekend you will be learning the basics of throwing on the wheel and then practice making a variety of vessels, including learning how to add to your pot, how to trim your pot and how to make handles.
Your weekend will end with free time on the wheel to throw some shapes and practice what you’ve learnt.
- Our Weekend Course is an intensive two-day course running from 9.30am to 4pm each day, with a break for lunch
- The course is suitable for complete beginners or for those who want to develop existing skills at an intermediate level
- The course covers basic throwing techniques and looks at techniques for throwing cylindrical forms and bowls
- We can also include teaching you how to make and attach a handle and turning/trimming a pot
- Maximum of 7 people on each course
- A wheel to yourself throughout the course
- All clay and use of equipment and tools included
- firing for two pots
- We provide aprons for you to use on the course
- Lunch will be provided
All of our wheel throwing courses are in groups of up to 8 people so you’ll have plenty of time with the tutor and it will still be a relaxing experience as well as good fun.
Please wear comfortable clothing that you are relaxed about getting messy. We recommend trousers as you’ll sit close to the wheel as you throw. Please ensure long hair is tied back, jewellery, watches, long necklaces, scarves etc are removed.
Please note that it is very difficult to throw pots with long nails.
