Shaban and Newski at St James

10th Nov
7pm - 10pm

Having crossed paths for the first time in South Africa in 2012 and become fast friends, these two fairly hard working musicians, have become constant collaborators, playing dozens of shows together and writing multiple hits such as 'Quit Your Job', 'Piss in the Wind' and their soon to be released 'Take me to Therapy' just to name a few.

For the first time ever, they'll be taking their collaborative show to the stage in Guernsey - expect a really fun night of two songwriters telling stories, playing songs and collaborating on each other's material and the material they've written together. Each artist will be playing a solo set and then the show will evolve into the duo taking the stage together and performing a final set of collaborative material.

Brett Newski:

A revival of 90’s alternative, Wisconsin's lo-fi alt rock outfit NEWSKI has played with Pixies, Violent Femmes, Courtney Barnett, Gin Blossoms, Manchester Orchestra, Better than Ezra, Barenaked Ladies, & Nada Surf and has been featured in Rolling Stone, NPR, American Songwriter, SiriusXM, Boston Globe, NBC, Billboard and SPIN.

“I work at a venue, I’ve seen a million bands, I hate most of them, and I’m a grumpy fu#*. NEWSKI's live show is so great and well-dialed. He is great at what he does.” -Door Guy, Casbah, San Diego
