GREEN LINE TO HIGHLIGHT ST PETER PORT ARTS AND CULTURE
GREEN LINE TO HIGHLIGHT ST PETER PORT ARTS AND CULTURE
Guernsey Arts is installing a Green Line across St Peter Port. The concept is simple: a green line on the pavements providing a self-guided walk through Guernsey's historic Town. Following the Green Line will provide visitors and locals with a self-led walking tour of the cultural highlights of St Peter Port.

This trial section of the Green Line, running from the Liberation Monument, along the front to Town Church, has been approved by Environment and Infrastructure Committee, and the route and installation methods have been approved by Traffic & Highways. The trail will run until December 2025, with feedback being welcomed.
The Green Line will help to highlight often missed cultural features around St Peter Port, and Guernsey Arts looks forward to seeing what visitors and the public think about it, and how this can help support out Town economy.
Guernsey’s Green Line takes inspiration from The Green Line project in Nantes, Le Voyage à Nantes, which connects the work of artists, architects, landscape designers and urban poets, highlighting public artworks available throughout the City. The Voyage’s green line stretches over twenty kilometres, connecting must-see sights and artworks, and can be discovered all year round.
Trevor Wakefield, Guernsey Arts Director, who has been leading this project, comments:
“St Peter Port is full of charm, history, and hidden gems—but it’s easy to miss them in the rush of everyday life. That’s where the Green Line comes in. This simple, low tech initiative is designed to guide you through the heart of the town, encouraging locals and visitors alike to explore, discover, and see St Peter Port in a whole new light. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a lifelong resident, the Green Line invites you to experience the town from a fresh perspective”
Jade Kershaw, Community & Public Realm Officer for Guernsey Arts:
“Guernsey Arts is thrilled to be able to provide a simple concept with huge outreaching potential to St Peter Port. The Green Line will celebrate the fantastic range of public art, history and culture that our Town and surrounding area has to offer. We look forward to seeing the community and visitors alike discover something new!”
