Guernsey Arts Wildlife Photographer open

Call to Bailiwick Photographers

Deadline for submissions: 15th October online submission.

Alongside the National History Museum, Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition hosted by Guernsey Museums annually in February and March. Guernsey Arts is excited to showcase a Bailiwick Wildlife Photography Open exhibition in the greenhouse gallery for 2021.

We encourage local photographers of all levels amateur, professional and student to put your photographs forward.

This is a great opportunity to share your photographs of Bailiwick wildlife with a wider audience. We hope you have been busy taking photographs this year and we can’t wait to see what you have captured. The entry is open to everyone, we are looking forward to seeing your images of all types of wildlife within the bailiwick, from the common to the rare, unusual and hard to spot.

- Close-ups of insects (micro photography)
- Marine life fish and sea creatures
- Birds
- Animals

(Please note that we will not exhibit photographs of domesticated animals e.g.cats, dogs, cows)

We also want to stress that when photographing the animals be respectful of their natural habitats and make sure that you do not cause any stress to the wildlife.

To enter upload your photographs and fill in the google form. When submitting the photograph please ensure that they are of a high resolution (1920px x 1080px 300dpi). We will accept photographs taken from phones. We want to know the background to the photographs so please share where the photograph was taken, species (if known), date and time you took the photographs and any background story to the photograph.

The judging panel will make the final selection for the exhibition at the Greenhouse Gallery, after being selected you will be informed. Guernsey Arts will print your photograph for the exhibition. Online submission via google drive: Contact Monika@arts.gg should you be unable to upload.

We look forward to seeing your photographs and to celebrate the rich wildlife in the Bailiwick. By submitting your photographs you acknowledge the following: The work submitted is of your own origination and you own all moral and intellectual property rights in that work. For this exhibition and other temporary installations, the work submitted may be used by Guernsey Arts for publicity, printed and online, reproduced, uploaded online, broadcast or published by local media and the GA. You submit your work at your own risk. It is advisable, if you feel it necessary, to take out your own insurance (check with your house insurance) to cover the work in transit and during it’s use with the GA. The GA are not responsible for damage to entrants’ artwork, nor loss of digital files, during the time of the exhibition or while in storage.
