Chris Griffiths is an artist, illustrator and graphic designer based in Guernsey.
He studied illustration and graphic design at Plymouth University before returning to Guernsey to pursue a career in graphic design. Alongside his brother, he has been running the design studio Two Degrees North for the last 18 years, and over the past few years he has rediscovered his love of painting and now spends much of his spare time at the easel.
Chris has entered many local exhibitions and competitions and has notably been a finalist in the Fox Art Competition on four occasions and was proud to have won the main prize in 2021. He was also a finalist in the 2021 Guernsey Arts Open where his painting was purchased and sent off to a client in Geneva. In April 2022 he had his first successful solo exhibition with over 20 original works at the Saumarez Park Folk Museum, the exhibition was simply entitled ‘Landscape’ and showcased Guernsey landscapes predominantly.
Chris loves the great outdoors and walking and studying the natural world that surrounds him which is why, as an artist, his main passion lies in landscape painting, although he also enjoys the challenge of tackling portraiture from time to time. Chris works almost exclusively with acrylic paints on canvas although he does also enjoy working with pen and ink when he is creating illustrations.
