Christina left the UK 30 years ago to work in Guernsey as a Compliance Professional. Since leaving the Finance Industry a year ago Christina now works as a Non-Executive Director for the Guernsey Arts Commission and is a full-time painter.
Her practice is rooted in Old Master painting techniques and traditions and
she draws particular inspiration form the balance and symbolism of the Pre-
Raphaelites Brotherhood and the Discipline of the Neo-Classical Movement. She
mainly uses egg tempera on gesso panels to re-interpret and reimagine classical
painting styles and techniques in a contemporary context.
A Law Graduate from Exeter University and winner of the prestigious drawing prize
at Wimbledon School of Art, Christina also worked as an assistant valuer for
Bonhams Fine Art Auctioneers specialising in Oriental Ceramics and Works of Art
before embarking on a finance career in Guernsey.
Re-imagining the language of the Old Masters through the embodiment of
craftmanship and technique is a major theme of this current exhibition which she has named “The Immortal Divine.”
