As an artist I am constantly trying to explore and express myself in new ways.
In a constantly evolving world surrounded by social media it can be very easy to compare yourself to another with vastly different contexts, your own creative outlet is the purest way of expressing yourself. Artwork inherently lends itself to being subjective, that's the beauty of it and why in some way shape or form creativity resonates with all of us.
For as long as I have been practicing artwork I have been inspired by the mysterious and macabre. Whether it be the works of H.R. Giger or the Black Paintings of Goya’s later years, it is artwork that evokes an emotional response that I am drawn to regardless of media or technique.
My background is in Graphic Design, completing my HND on Island in 2021 but as I continue to practice and explore creative experimentation I find myself drawn to more traditional techniques. Currently most of my work is completed through digital illustration but I am slowly teaching myself to paint and continue my creative expression through a keen interest in tattoos and public art.
Often appearing under the alias of ‘Crood’ or ‘Crood Art’ I have curated, featured in and installed many local exhibitions and public art projects. A personal passion project being a short sticker run now dotted around the Island and into the UK to see how far I can leave my mark. Like many contemporary artists I am heavily influenced with my views of the world and ongoing debate with my own psyche, this journey continues to be the driving force behind my passion for creativity.
